SHEEPDOG

Medium: Digital

Created Spring 2024

Class: Beginning Drawing

Process:

For this class we were tasked with creating a project based off a question we formed at the beginning of the quarter. The question I had formed revoled mainly around individual identity, and this final was my chance to explore it in more depth.

Challenges:

The biggest challenges I ran into while creating this piece were how to convey the assimilation and adoption of identiy in the form of a physical body. SheepDog was at first meant to be a commentary on gender, but eventually the idea become too niche to apply to a wider audience.

Final Product:

This piece took me 7 hours to complete and was created entirely on Procreate via my iPad and Apple Pencil. The burshes used are the Studio Pen, the Round Paint Brush, and a custom wet brush. The text reads “If You Can’t Beat Them”.
